natural logarithms:

Base-e logarithms.

negative exponents:

For each nonzero number a and for each positive integer n, a^-n = 1/a^n.

negative reciprocals:

Two numbers having a product of - 1.

negative square root:

The negative of the principal square root.

negative square root function:

The function with the equation y= -Öx

network:

A set of points (vertices) connected by arcs.

nonequivalent transrormation:

A transformation that results in an equation not equivalent to the original.

nonlinear system:

A system of two or more equations at least one of which is nonlinear.

normal distribution:

A specific bell-shaped algebraic function approximated by many frequency distributions.
