Power Chords / Rock Chords
Most guitar players at some point need to play songs which involve rapid chord changes with a rich deep sound to them. These are referred to as Power chords and are essential to any guitar player. There are a few different methods of forming power chords, but the one which I use and most players use is a slight variation of the 6th and 5th barre chords.
A power chord is essentially the root and the fifth of any given chord. Thus, once you have mastered the 6th barre chord formation you can play an "F power chord" by strumming the 6th string and the 5th strings with your fingers in the 6th formation. Remember Only play the two strings involve in the chord formation. This will give it a deeper sound.

Exercise: Power chords are self explanatory and can be used in any of the earlier barre chord lessons. Just replace the chords with there respectfully power chords.
