So... What exactly is VRML???
VRML or the Virtual Reality Markup (or Modeling) Language is a relatively new 3D programming language. The annals of VRML can be traced back to VRML 1.1 a relatively primitive and very difficult to use programming language. However, in the past few years, engineers at Silicon Graphics have revealed VRML 2.0, a complete makeover of VRML 1.1 that allows programmers (MEANING YOU!) to create virtual worlds in which anyone on the Internet can browse and interact with. Imagine the possibilities! One can create a mini-movie with animals running across a paradise landscape, or a model of their house with objects that actually work (doors, appliances, cars, etc.), or one can even create an interactive VRML game in which the user is given a main character which he must lead through an adventurous world full of dangers and puzzles!!! Did I fail to mention that VRML 2.0 worlds are capable of playing WAVS, MIDIS, MPEG movies, and many more multimedia files within it? Excited? I bet you are. But, I'm sorry to report, that I don't know that much about VRML either. So you'll just have to find out on your own. There are some links to helpful places in the links section.
