". . . In the two years
that I lived under martial law, I developed an insatiable hunger for truth, for a free
press. All the old saws that I learned mindlessly in school suddenly became real to me.
Every day, for four years of college, I had walked under the words carved in stone above
the door of the university library: 'The truth shall make you free.' It took Ferdinand
Marcos to make me understand those words . . ." Kaa Byington |

Name: Reamur David
Location: Quezon City, Philippines
Email: squiggles@yada-yada.com
Reamur David is
a junior at APC taking up Computer Science. As a kid, he was fascinated by the
growing technology of computers such that he spent hours staring at the monitor while
watching logic and pixel come together and do their romantic dance. Deprived from owning
his own computer during his youth, he rechanneled his frustration and used this energy to
self-train in its use. For twelve years, he enjoyed its use, while learning so many things
about it.
It is quite
ironic though that despite his interests in computers, he detests the Math. Even if
stereotypes dictate that these two should be together, Rhem thinks otherwise. To him, Math
is but a mere excuse of trying to assert imaginary figures as things of concern (Whatever
that means...). For now, he is concentrating his energies on studying Philosophy 101.
Computers are
not the only ones that shape Rhem. As a dear hobby of his, he enjoys the uncertainties and
life onstage. As part of Ateneo's premiere theatre, Tanghalang Ateneo, he has already been
part of numerous productions such as Macbeth, The Good Woman of Setzuan, Julius Caesar,
and Tartuffe.
There is
still much to say about this 21-year-old, manic-depressive, obsessive-compulsive,
object-oriented, schizophrenic, embryonic, polka-dotted fighter pilot extremist (Among
other things...). However, there is only one word to describe this embodiment of trait
amalgam--Rhem (Third person point-of-view...whatever...)
