Senator
Benigno Aquino Jr.
(1932-1983)
He was one of the strongest
influences in the opposition party against the Marcos Administration. He relentlessly
exposed and revealed all the graft and corruption happening behind the curtains of
politics; thus, he became the archrival of Ferdinand Marcos during the Martial Law era.
His life was abruptly ended as he deplaned from a China Airlines flight from Boston by a
couple of bullets through his head. His death sparked a series of revolutions against the
administration leading to the EDSA Revolution of 1986.
