Solomon Islands:

The Solomon Islands is an archipelago in the South Pacific. During World War II, Japanese occupied most of the islands, and they were the site of many Pacific battles. The most notorious of thesebattle was the Battle of Guadalcanal. The Japanese remained in control until 1945 when the last occupation forces were driven out by the Allies.
