Potsdam Declaration:

This declaration, released on July 26 from the Potsdam Conference, warned the Japanese against total destruction if they did not concede unconditional surrender. This declaration was the result of the detonation of the first atomic weapon in Alamagordo, New Mexico, ten days before its release.
