Books are weapons in the war of ideas!

Philippines:
The Philippines were attacked simultaneously with Pearl Harbor, and the Japanese easily occupied the islands two weeks later. U.S. forces were forced to flee to Australia to avoid capture. Douglas MacArthur, who had served as military advisor to the Filipino President Manuel Quezon, made it part of his plan to return to the Philippines in his Pacific campaign. He fulfilled this plan in 1944 when he liberated the islands in October.
