Books are weapons in the war of ideas!

Moscow, USSR:
The Russian capital was within 40 miles of being captured in October 1941. The Russians, with the help of their climate, were able to deftly repulse the German attack force, and at the same time evacuate portions of the city. Combined with the simultaneous withstanding of the German siege on Leningrad, this battle provided a great morale boost for the Russian army, and produced some of the first Russian war heroes of World War II.
