Books are weapons in the war of ideas!

LeMay, Maj. Gen. Curtis:

This general was in command of many U.S. bomber squadrons in the Pacific, and initiated many bombing raids on the Japanese, especially utilizing the advantages of incendiary weapons and close formation daylight raids. Japanese cities were extremely susceptible to incendiary weapons, as their populations were very dense, and most of their structures were not very permanent to begin with. LeMay was able to coordinate a massive buildup of bombers within range of the Japanese homeland, and in 1945, even before atomic weaponry was used by the U.S., launched dozens of operations targeting Japanese industrial centers and urban areas, wreaking havoc on the Japanese war effort. His success was the most evident during one ten day stretch when 855 of LeMay's bombers obliterated over 30 square miles of Japanese urban areas.
