Kempeitai:

Kempeitai is the term used to describe the Japanese secret police, which often accompanied Japanese invasion forces to carry out the transition to a Japanese controlled government. Many anti-Japanese organizations in occupied areas struck out against the Kempeitai, and the actions of such groups often led to more organized revolutions, and the eventual expulsion of the Japanese in many areas.
