Gestapo:

The Gestapo is the term used for the Nazi security police from 1933 to 1945. This organization was formed as the political security force for the Nazi party in 1933 by Hermann Goring. In 1934, Goring's rival, Heinrich Himmler, took control of the organization. Himmler already had control of the SS, the military force of the Nazis, and he began to merge the two organizations. Together they carried out the implementation of the concentration camps, in addition to liquidation of civilian populations in many occupied areas. Following the war, the Gestapo was dissolved and declared criminal during the Nuremberg trials.
