| Auschwitz, Poland, was the site of largest the Nazi concentration camp in World War II. During the Holocaust, anywhere from 1.5 million to 4 million people perished at this camp. It is estimated that over one third of the entire number of Holocaust victims were executed there, consisting mostly of Jews. However, many Poles, Gypsies, Soviets, and homosexuals were also executed there. |
