Web site is good. It could use more elaboration theoretically what makes the style what it is (you had the idea with R&B, I wish you had done a lot more with jazz).

Heylo People! I love Music! Hey, does this thing limit how much you write? Because I hate when comment thingies do that. But one time... (at band camp! j/k!) I was talking about a cat that jumped through my window at yahoo... and then I finished typing the whole thing. But then... I had pressed send... and it took the time to tell me THEN that I had too many characters!! I had to delete everything! It stunk. Anyways.. I hope this doesn't do that. It'd be cool if it didn't. Hehe. Anyways... Music related! Okay, here I am.. back to my music thoughts. So.. Oh, I'm teaching myself Piano! This site helps me learn notes! I'm music-interested! Yay! I like learning about music history. Anywho! Let me see if this sends!

i have to come here and get homework stuff, But im doing data management in math right now and i cant find anything on it cause you people only put, like, alegbra and stuff..so i think it would help if you had more options.... and for the music..i think you should have it so somebody could go to the music part and see 'trumpet'(for examle) and then they click on it an there would be notes for that particular instrument..... i think that would help your page out...but its a good page...

This music site is extremely well-done and accessible; not just for beginners, but also as a refresher. As for the immature dweeb who e-mailed and said that you should pick up electric guitars and play Stevie Vai, I have worked with Stevie as I am the author of the movie "Crossroads." Stevie would like your site a lot better than the inane remarks of this sad fellow. Keep up the good work.

When I found this site I was thrilled to bits. Here was a place to refer my students to. It is wonderful that you can compact so much information into this site and yet keep it brief enough for one to get an overview of all aspects of music. There was one small item that I did disagree with however. The section on music theory states that the time signature is a fraction. There is a great error in this thinking. The time signature does not have a short line between the numbers as does a fraction nor does it have a mathematical function i.e. a numerator or denominator. It is simply a musical symbol that tells one how to count the music. Please reconsider your wording in this area. Thank you, Vicky

Well I must say it is about time someone put a site on the net for us muso's. I have recently moved to london from Manchester due to a new teaching post and feel that your site will enhance the lessons for my yr10&11 students. We have recently had 100 computers installed with the www and will certainly point the kids in the right direction to your site. Would it be possible to include some or all of the British music sylibus, i realise that we use more than one but SEG and MEG seem to be the ones that are used more than others. Once again I loved the site and will keep coming back to see new general and theory questions. All the best.Cris.

I happened upon your site from an entry you left for me in my guestbook.  I apologize for not getting to your site sooner, but I really have been busy lately adding to my site and re-doing the look.  Anyway, I thought that I would go through and sign each person's guestbook who was thoughtful enough to leave me a message...and this ensures that I did sign everyone else's guestbook.  And I must admit that it is really nice to see everyone's new ideas for their sites.  When you get some time, stop in and take a look around at my small Corner!

Hey! Wonderful effort and exceedingly USEFUL results. Don't stop development of this site! It has the potential to grow into something much broader in: scope, varied individual input, electronic educational research applications, commercial (no way out of it if you succeed in this fair country) links and connecting that casual browser's love for music with information that can give it more substance. Even the fact that the opening piece of music is an original composition lends credit to your commitment. We hope your respect for the material and young talent in presenting it are recognized by those who can appreciate it.

Very impressed with the content of your site! However, I decided against awarding it because of resolution compatibility. Your site cannot be viewed at 640x480 without having to scroll horizontally.... a feature most users find annoying. Still you have my deepest admiration at the job you did... navigation was good, content was outstanding, and the educational content was great. Keep hard at it.... you've got much to be proud of!!

I think this is a great site! Very easy to use, and LOADS FAST (which is a consideration on my antiquated machinery)! However, it seems that there is a shortage of Styles in your list. I assume you shall continue to build on that? For example, where does Musical Theatre fall? Congratulations on terrific work!

I thought the sight was very impressive and well thought out. Being someone who passed with hononrs on his theory exam last year I know what I'm talking about (however, I certainly do not know how to spell!!). The only suggestion that I would have for you is to make it clerer in the game how you want the intervals written in the spaces (ex. I was writing a major 2nd as +2 as oppsed to M2). Then you could use a submit command to make the web sight score the game for the user. Good site nontheless, I'll prolly use it for my history of music class next semester.

Excellent!! Excellent!! Excellent Site!! It's about time someone put an all-inclusive music web site on the Internet available to everyone(not just Windows 95 and Windows 98 users). This site has everything and is really well thought out!! My only suggestion is that it needs a section for Experimental and Electronic Music and of course the addition of Composers such as Terry Riley,Phillip Glass, Wendy Carlos,John Cage,Robert Moog etc. and the Instruments that they used in their music(Synthesizers,Therimins and Treated Pianos). I'm sure this will come in time.Keep up the GREAT WORK!!

Congratulations on such a well written web site!! I am a 5th grade band teacher and was very intrigued and impressed when this web site was passed on to me. It will be a great tool in my teaching of beginning band students as well as my private trumpet students (I've already put it in my favorite places folder). This is something every music teacher should have access to. It could be a valuable resource in the general music classroom as well as in the band/orchestra class. :)

I'd like to make you aware of an exclusive, never before published, interview with Mr. Gordon, to be published for your perusal on September the 21st, 1998 at MusicStaff.com. We are very excited about this opportunity to offer such a resource for music educators. We invite you to make note of the date and drop by to read and learn more about The Learning Theory Method by Edwin Gordon shared by the creator, himself! As always, your feedback is encouraged and very much appreciated at MusicStaff.com. If you have any requests of future topics to be covered, let us serve you by making us aware of your needs for resources on the Internet. For an archive of other methods already covered in this series, please see: http://www.musicstaff.com/ideas.htm Thank you for this forum to let people know about this opportunity. I tried posting this on the bulletin board but it said the server was down and wouldn't allow my post. I read the FAQ's and I thought I followed everything properly. Perhaps the link threw the script for a loop. ;-0
