Hello and welcome to Advance Lunge, the fencing site. We have built a resource which covers all aspects of fencing, from how to lunge, to where to buy a mask, to the origins and history of fencing, to where to contact other fencers. We've compiled information on all the subjects that are useful to fencers of all experience levels. If you're just starting to learn to fence, check out our tutorial section. Doing some research? Then check out our comprehensive fencing timeline in our history section. In addition, you can contact fencing clubs all over the country, find out more about fencing through our links, play fencing games to test your knowledge, or look up almost anything in our FAQ. There is something for everyone with an interest in fencing. If you have any feedback for us or if you can think of anything else you want to see here, email us!

For those of you with less fencing experience, the first question on your mind may be "What does "advance lunge" mean?". The advance lunge is a combination move used in fencing that begins with an advance and ends with a lunge as the attack; two of the most basic moves in fencing. But the advance lunge itself is so much more than basic; it is a distance gaining move and powerful attack, and a well planned strategy to get the advantage of the other player. It can be about speed or strength, lending explosive power to quick movement. Many complex bladework moves can be executed during the advance lunge such as the pris de fer (taking of the iron), a move that shows total control of the situation and beautiful finess of movement. In short, the advance lunge can stand for everything that is beautiful about fencing. The strength, the speed, the strategy, the grace, the adrenaline, and the possibility of simplicity or complexity that make fencing a great sport also makes advance lunge a fitting title for this site. Take a look around; we hope that our site captures and shares some of the excitement found in fencing. Good luck, and happy fencing!
