This is form Horus took when his characteristics as god of light were emphasized. The name of this from is Harakhte and it means -Horus of the horizon- or -Horus of the two horizons. Harakhte was identified with Ra, especially with his Khepri and Atum (rising and setting sun) aspects as he made the daily journey from the eastern horizon to the western horizon.
Soon the role of the two gods as solar and royal deities became mixed, and their combined authority (Ra-Harakhte) held sway over Egypt. The god was represented as a falcon or a man with a falcon head wearing the solar disk and triple crown. (uraeus and atef crown)
