The Eskimo, or Inuit people, as they call themselves, call the Sun Malina. They believe that she is a beautiful girl who carries a torch through the sky while being chased by her brother Aningan, the moon. This chase is why the Sun alternates with the moon in the light dark cycle.
In the Eskimos culture the Sun's mother is Jupiter who is dangerous to magicians. They also believe that their ancestors dance and light fires on a dark night forming the aurora.
