In 1972, he recorded his very first album which he called "Ballads and Blues". Today, Winston focuses on R&B-type music integrated with a folk music flavor in some of his songs.

Winston started on his theme-related album release in 1980 with the release of "Autumn". He then released "Winter into Spring", "December", "Summer" and "Forest". "Forest" won an Academy Award in 1995. Growing up in Montana, distinct and drastic changes in the weather there gave Winston the influence and inspiration to write music about seasons and times of the year. In 1996, George Winstom released the now gold album "Linus and Lucy".

Today, George Winston tours over 110 live shows a year. "I love touring ... that's the real thing, and that's really my home" he says.
