As 1890-1941 - Originally from Louisiana, Ferdinand Morton was a pianist and composer. He is distinguished in his solo roles on the piano. Morton recorded
over eighty-five tapes and played in various piano roles during the years of 1923 to 1929. He introduced the flavor of ragtime and blues into jazz. Some of Morton’s works include: “The Pearls” of 1919, “Grandpa’s Spells” of 1923 and “Smoke-House Blues” which was written in 1926.
