1922-1979 - Born in the state of Arizona, Charles Mingus was a bassist, pianist, composer, arranger and bandleader. He combined jazz and gospel into one conglomerate sound.
His work includes “Goodbye Pork Pig Hat” which was composed in 1951 and “Better Git it in Your Soul” which was composed and performed by Mingus in 1959.
