himself how to play the piao and how to compose music. Throughout his life, Wagner composed music for theater. His “Symphony in C” was a wild success. In 1839, Wagner met and married Minna Planer - they left for Paris. It was here that Wagner composed “The Flying Dutchman”, “Tannhauser” and “Rienzi”, three operas. All were criticized for their rebellious melodies and no steady tunes.
Forced to leave Germany in 1850 because of his participation in the German Revolt of 1848-1849. He therefore had to move to Switzerland. In 1864,
Wagner had his own theater built In the 1870s, the king approved the annual Wagnerian Festival to take place. The first Wagnerian Festival took place in 1876.
Wagner’s most notable works include
“Das Rheigold”, “Die Walkure” and “Parsifal”. In addition, Wagner composed “Tristan and Isolde” and “Gotterdammerung”. Wagner died in 1833, and his body was buried in Bayreuth.
