Lighten Specific Areas Of A Photo

Sometimes shadows can mess up pictures, like a hat hiding a person's pretty face. The dodge tool DODGEtool.JPG (5000 bytes) offers an easy solution to this problem.  Here's an example:

STEP 1.gif (10628 bytes)

We selected the dodge tool and gave it a small exposure. We chose a 10% exposure for tool because it was close to the size of the face. Then the dodge tool was moved onto the face and brightened by holding down the left button and dragging the tool over the area. Note: We are just using the head area, so we spot-lighted it to show you the tool's effect.
