Improve A Faded Photo
This photograph dates back to 1915 and faded after being stored in the attic for 75 years.
Here is a simple enhancement :

To show more detail in the foreground, we needed to increase the contrast. From the menu bar, select "Image" and look for the "Adjust" option. From the Adjust option drop-down menu, select the "Brightness/Contrast" command. Next, we played around with the numerical contrast settings until we found an appropriate setting. We decided to set the contrast level to +32.

The glare needed to be reduced in the background. This was accomplished by decreasing the brightness. You can slide the triangular symbol or input numerical values to change the brightness. We set the brightness at -18 to made this final image.
