The Culture

"Eh we go beach!"  The preceding phrase, heard quite often here, is an example of the local language, known as "pidgin."  The language is one example of the exotic and unique culture of Hawaii.  In addition, the state of Hawaii is rich in tradition, with many customs and beliefs that can only be found here.  For example, ancient Hawaiians often lived their lives in fear of the gods and offered many sacrifices.  Even today, Hawaiian priests knowns as "kahunas" offer advice to the locals about how to live their lives.
