July 4 -- A study conducted on middle aged and elderly men in Finland, the Netherlands, and Italy has shown that those who eat a healthy diet have a 13% lower risk of mortality during a 20 year period. Factors such as fat, calorie, vitamin, and fiber intake were considered, along with smoking and drinking habits. Those who were judged the most healthy eaters were 13% less likely to die during the study period than those judged least healthy eaters. Source: British Medical Journal; Reuters Health News |
