Mona Lisa is what Leonardo De Vinnci would look like if he were a girl!!!

Your website is wonderful however, I would like to comment about the painting "Mona Lisa".I do not think Leonardo Da Vinci painted himself as a woman. I think Mona Lisa is a true person. I suggest you study the notes more closely about model sitting and see if you find anything about the uniquness of the way they smile. That is my suggestion.

I am always so amazed at how your site manges tofocus on so many aspects of Leonardo ...and in such depth. The Links on vegetaranism pertaining to Leonardo are especially interesting because (although I am Not one myself) I have many vegetarian people in my life. I am truly sorry that the site is not up--I'm sure that everything will go back to normal with the end of the holiday weekend.

My elementary science group is in preparation for an open house in their school on Tuesday. As part of our Science Inquiry focus we visited your site. The students were awed by the interesting, educational, and fun-filled facts and displays they found there. Some of them even said that a visit to the site has further inspired them to pursue science, art, and history studies as career choices. All I can say is your site has been a very rich and wonderful resource for my students as well as interested fellow scholars in the field.

It is rather telling that in Europe the scholars don't seem to know about some of the info found here (when I shared it with them), but so many of us have become regular site visitors! Keep up the good work..I look forward to your new findings.

The site is very good . But my question remained unanswered what made Monalisha Smile? The conclusion after going through this site, is that there was no Moanlisha at all and the Leonardo was the person who had strong knowledge over the topic " Grapevine". Which made the people in humble about monalish and her picture even today, near about 500 years of the grapevine made

The Mona Lisa is smiling because she has lost her two front teeth. Although your website is very interesting, and I personally believe that the Mona Lisa is a self-portrait of da Vinci, you did not include the relevant medical facts that have been unearthed. The Mona Lisa has shown to be very heavily pregnant by experts in the field of diagnosis, she has lost her two front teeth, and she has fatally high levels of cholesterol. The reason for her smile, a question you have asked many times is very simply answered by the slight droop in the corner of her mouth, indicating that her two front teeth are missing. I think that these facts are relevant and I'm sure that they would add to the controversy already surrounding the big M.

To say that the amazing "mona Lisa" portrait was a mere commissioned sitting overlooks the well-known facts of Leonardo's personal historywhich reveal:Leonardo spent at least four years making it (on and off)He carred it with him to his final destination in France, wherer king Francis I legendarily obtained it when Leonardo died in his arms, and the compelling evidence of the likeness' similarity to his own physiognomic "type" all tell of an artist's struggle with the expression in auto-portrait form his inner emotions concerning gender identification and his responsibility as a creator.

Most experts believe it is the wife of a 16th-century Florentine businessman, Francesco del Giocondo, who commissioned the portrait and hence her name is also "La Gioconda".

The segment on the Bronze Horse was awe inspiring. It shows that a great idea can eventually be realized. If only Leonardo could be around to seeit. I know somewhere he is content with the rememberance which our contemporaries have wrought.

The aspect of your site a found the most intriguing was the fact that Students both at JFK high school and elsewhere on the Globe(i.e. Scandinavia) were in communication and unified by the study of Leonardo-- one of the great insprations of progress in the world's history... If only all of our governments could channel energies into this commendable pursuit the way the young people are doing it here--waht a different world outlook we might have!
