Just as connections were found between Leonardo and Arthur C. Clarke in creating a workshop Delta gifted and talented Teachers in District 20 of Brooklyn, I was able to find connections between Leonardo and Artist, exhibit builder Waterhouse Hawkins.

My studies of Charles Dent, who was an important proponent in having the Bronze Horse realized, have led me to your site and believe me, he would have been proud about the way the horse was finally built and the way you represented the story here! Great work!

I was very taken by the flying birds--I learned that Leonardo had a fascination with birds--they must of been spiritual symbols to him. A great site for a great artist.

The Flying Birds were really interesting and the Bronze Horse Section was really facinating. By the way I was in the Fraunces Tavern in NYC and they had a sky Top that was supposed to be designed by Leonardo(based on his helicopter).

It is simply amazing to read about conclusions such as Dr. Lillian Schwartzs'. After seeing the images, I am more and more convinced by her theory. However, my over-excited-curious-liitle-girl-need for adventure keeps me from completely abandonning myself in this conviction. Nevertheless, I am totally amazed by Dr Schwartzs findings. If total knowledge and comprehension of mysteries would be obtained...the adventurous magic of life itself wiould lost!

Heres what i think- Everyone says that leonardo painted himself, but why would he do that when he could always just do himself regualy? I mean sure the outlines of of his face match, but why? Anyway have you ever read the 2nd mrs.giocanda? I have done a whole bunch of reports on leonardo da vinche and I think that he painted a portrate of a commener who reminded him of the duches Beatrice. Well thats my thought and i hope it doesnt sound to corny! - Alanna

This site reminds me that some of the greatest achievements we have seen are connected to the power of the individual and his own determination... However, the survival and rememberance such achievements seem to be tied to the power of groups such as the the devoted students of Leonardo worldwide, who share their ideas and findings to preserve his lessons and realize his unfulfilled dreams for the benefit of future generations.

I found the Bronze Horse story so intriguing...to think such a great design could not be realized in Leonardo's lifetime( aside from his notebooks and a few paintings, very little has actually come through)the imaginative possibilities could keep fans busy for another Millennia. The clay model that was produced and the Final product is a feat even in our so-called advanced era--Thanks for presenting the story so well!

I really, truly agree with Dr. Lillian Schwartz's theory that Leonardo da Vinci created the famous portrait of the Mona Lisa by using his own features and a drawing of Duchess Isabella as the models.

I always wondered if Artists are even aware of the archetypal likenesses and charateristics they create when they model their subjects. At first I thought that Leonardo was trying to create his race of classic looking characters as a homage to the ancient world... But then I realized, after looking at the compelling presentation of Ms. Schwartz and her graphic metamorphoses that whether conscious or not, Leonardo was in fact, sharing his observations and explorations with us as they emerged from the mental processing which took place WITHIN his inner world and as all wise masters, was one of the earliest to realize the the essential parallel of the microcosmic incidence to the world at large. Placed in any other circumstances, Leonardo would have been able to, indeed be hard driven to forge and derive connections between one seemingly disparate idea and another. This is not only consistent with his nature as a discoverer, but importantly as a chronicler/teacher--One of the greatest and most accessible that there has ever been!!
