It would be interesting if on this special day the artists were able to transcend time and see what the children have done. What would the artists have done with the technology we have now? How would the children’s visions have changed if they had lived earlier in time.

The Max cows are a bridge of sorts and an inspiration. I see them all over the city, and this site reflects upon them in a very sophisticated manner. I love the children's art. Their pictures--particularly the one about biodiversity--are outstanding. Congratulations to everyone involved.

There is one art drawing that shows fireworks. The comment is wonderful. I agree with Regina that it is a wonderful site. Did she look at the fireworks drawing? There is such a vision. It’s interesting to see how updated the site is what with the Max cows and all.

What a wonderful site...seeing various versions of the future and the fourth of July around the corner, I was wondering how the technology of the fire works displays will advance by the year 2100...I am sure some wonderful pieces of conteporary art could be created on that future vision.

It was a delight to visit the award-winning Artifacts 2100. As I viewed the student art inspired and grounded in that of past artists and art styles, I wondered how these artists of the past would react and respond to the 2100 student artist work. Indeed, I can almost see Leonardo and Dahli discussing the arts 2100 JFK students’ creations. How wonderful it would be to eavesdrop on such a discussion, or perhaps to imaginatively recreate it. Who knows? Perhaps these great artists really are looking at us from the past through cyberspace and working on Arts 2200.

It was wonderful, when I revisited artiFAQ 2100 projects, to see the pictures of the teams' first place finish! As a peer of the JFK students, I am inspired to write my own stories of artiFAQ 2100, sparked by their graphic art. I wonder if the student will use today's headline to create a style of art influenced by the Human Genome Project.

I am a rather old "schoolie", as I am now at 41 a retired and disabled Veteran Special Forces soldier , who is going retro-grade now and doing what I always wanted as I have the time, I am sketching and painting, and studying. I never thought much about Da Vinci before, but I have spent some {many} dollars on paints and pencils etc, and am into it, great site for the old and young to learn about genius, and the possibility of genius in us all.

Congratulations to the JFK team and Mr. Feld on being first in the Microsoft contest. As a fifth grade teacher, I will be able to use the students' visions of art in the year 2100 to inspire my students to write, draw, research, and predict life in 2100.

I am a third year student at New York University. I find the ideas expressed on these web pages to be very exciting. I commend the students on their work and for the award Microsoft awarded them. The ideas about the art of the year 2100 are truly inspirational and give me reason to pause and reflect. Thank you.

I would also like to congratulate you. The leonardo da vici web site has been a great help.I too am also stating to believe that the Mona lisa resembles that of leonardo da vinci's portrait. This would also explain why it was the only one of his paintings he kept for himself, and the only one of his paintings that hadnt been commissioned by anyone.thanks heaps, and keep up the exellent work.

I currently teach in a residential facility for severly Emotionally Disturbed children. In my classroom I have twelve 10 to 14 year old boys at various functioning levels. This web site has so much information that all my students could pull from. The information is easy to read and the graphics are interesting and inviting. My class has completed an extensive unit on Native Americans and would relate well to the rock art section. Ironically, Pfizer has donated two cows from the Cows on Parade for our children to design to be displayed in NYC somewhere. My students would love to see the web page for that. I like that the web page tells a stary of art that children of all abilities can follow. I plan to challenge my students to come up with a design they predict will around in a hundred years. Once our computer system is up and running in September I predict we will be using this site.

as a graduate student of art history and a student of painting i am astounded with the scope and the depth of the artifaq 2100.it is particularly striking and significant that the students visions of art in the year 2100 are so directly linked and grounded in the achievement of art masterpieces and periods. It will be interesting to see the extent to which the student art inspires, reflects, and motivates art 2100. Congratulations and thank you for this inspirational look at art history and preivew of art futures ! - Jeffrey Solomon

Hi, JFK H.S. -- This is Richard Jordan, a member of the Board of Governors of the Naitonal Arts Club on Gramercy Park in Manhattan. Really interesting project on the Miho Museum. First, let me say that it was not clear where on the planet JFK H.S. is -- I figured out the Bronx from various clues. But, more importantly, at the Arts Club, we do a lot of work with students and the arts. We are a 100-year old arts educational organization that admitted men on a full and equal basis with women 100 years ago. Freddie Ferrer has been to the Club, and Mayor Dinkins visits as often as he can. The food is REAL good, lots of receptions and stuff like that, with art exhibition openings. I am planning a series at the Club for the Millennium called "The Dialogue of Civilizations". The questions that you asked are really imporrtant ones and go to the heart of the matter. I.M. Pei has received two Gold Medal Awards from us, and maybe we can arrange for some way in which we and lots of you can all participate in some event. Would like to speak with you about it, maybe even have you help plan it. Send an e-mail. I'm wired. Later, Richard J.
