The Marble Hill and Kingsbridge communities are planning to build a new school building on the vacant lot in front of Kennedy.
The local School Board would like to designate Kennedy High School as a SURR (Schools Under Registration Review) because of the bad press the school has received. He feels we all have to, work together to make the bad things better and to keep the things which are working well. He emphasized that we should be sure to let the media knows about the good things and not just the bad things.
He also pointed out that his office is aware of the fact that we are receiving 34% of State funding, but we have 37% of the number of students. Therefore we are not getting our fair share of the State Education budget. Assemblyman Dinowitz is working towards addressing and adjusting this fiscal inequity.
