Hello. I am a teacher in Brazil and I am interested in linking my school with yours. i am sure it is a greatopportunity to learn english. Would you like to try? Thanks regards teacher Cida Proença rodpro@bol.com.br

Dear Cida,
Thank you for your email. It would be wonderful for our students to link to one another. How many or your students speak English? What are their ages? Are you connected to the web in your classroom? How many of your students have the Internet at home? Do you have a web site my students can visit? My students' site, Learning About Leonardo has been evolving for over 4 years and has many multilingual activities that your students can enjoy.I look forward to hearing from you.
Best regards,
Steve Feld

Hi Mr. Steve I am so glad you answered me. Thanks. No, i am not conect to web in my classroom. Just few students have internet at home. I do not have web site. Brazil is a poor country. I had this link last year with Cheriton Fitzne Primary school in England. just using the post office. My talk with mr. Smith the teacher in England was by email.
I am afraid you would not like to link with us anymore. We do not have emails facilities yet. Aniway I am eager to hear from you very soon. My students will love to exchange ideas with yours.
My best wishes

Dear Cida,

Our schoolink project has inspired our new TQ NYC project about King Tut. The new project has been approved by ThinkQuest and will launch in August. We have redesigned your page of questions and have added more links.

/13681/data/millennium/cida.htm

You told me earlier that your school will be connected to the Internet in June. Has this happened? I am hopeful your students will be able to see the fruits of our labor. I look forward to receiving the postcards your students have written to mine and continuing our Bronx-Brazil partnership. We would love to post any jokes your student contribute, to add to ours. Sincerely, Steve

Hi Steve. Thanks for answering so quickly.
No internet yet in school. I am going to take some pictures of my school to send you and also I am developing a work with a camera. I will send to you the tapes. Is it possible? But it will take a liitle longer. But you will receive the postcards first. My students just want postcards from NY and also Holliwood in fact they postcards from all over the USA. are you going to watch world soccer cup? do you have ICQ number? hugs from your friend in Brazil Cida PS. My students want photos from you and also your students bye

Dear Cida,

My students are eager to get their questions answered since they spent considerable time in answering all of your questions. Also, they would like your students to share their favorite jokes so we could add them to our page. We have placed Statue of Liberty postcards on your Internet page, And another picture of Lincoln Center that I photographed, which you have received.I am a computer arts teacher teacher. Although your postcard exchange project is an excellent one, it is not within my content responsibilities. My Social Studies colleages do not have time, since their students are preparing for the Regents. For those student who are wired to the Internet at homecan use our online postcards to send greetings to their friends

http://www.all-yours.net/cgi-localbin/dp20/start20?write31045502

. Our project is a wonderful multicultural resource but it is one-sided without the Brazilian perspective. We look forward to receiving answers to our questions, and receiving a few of your students favorite jokes. Sincerely, Steve Hello, Steve thanks for answering me. I will post your answers and post cards up to the of this week. Sorry my delay. But there wa a festival in my school and I had to do another thing. Talking about your school site, my sutdents do not have acess in internet. The ones who has internet at home does not understand english or spanish. Sorry. What you mean about jokes?

see you later hugs

Cida Proença

Dear Cida.

By jokes from your students I mean humorous stories that make them laugh, or funny things that your students say. The page is filled with my students answers, but where are your students answers to our questions? The postcard link I gave you for your students is multilingual. There are 23 languages available for your students to create and send musical greetings. I look forward to hearing from you with these answers and jokes. Sincerely, Steve

hello Steve. I will be posting you letter this thursday now. I am trying to send you the jokes but I am not sure if i will be able to put them in english. I have tried many times to open your web site, the emails address you sent me but it is impossible.

hugs,

Cida proença

Dear Cida,

If you are having difficulty seeing your page it is because TQ prevents you from going directly to the page. What you need to do is click on the small Vitruvian Man picture you see at the bottom of the page. This will let you through to go your page. Try it. You will see your page.

I found a nice example page of jokes here: http://www.indianchild.com/school_jokes1.htm

Sincerely, Steve
