Purpose
- To honor and distinguish those webmasters that make an extra effort to enhance the web by creating familly friendly, content rich web sites that are compatible with most browsers.
- The winning webmasters take extra time to insure that their scripts work, their alt tags are in place and are sensitive to accessibility to those users with disABILITIES and those surfing from the lower end of the digital divide.
Reason
- The web is a vast storehouse of information and images, whose accessibity is sometimes LIMITED to a particular browser and EXCLUDING those using another.
- In an effort to thwart browser dependency we review each web site submitted with a variety of browsers including Netscape 3.0 TO INSURE UNIVERSAL ACCESS.
