Why
is the Mona Lisa Smiling?
http://library.thinkquest.org/13681/data/davin2.shtml?tqskip=1
'Why is the Mona Lisa Smiling?' is
a project of students at the John F. Kennedy High School in Bronx, New
York. From an academic standpoint, this site offers some interesting
multilingual cultural perspectives on the identity of Mona Lisa, while
comparing two theories of Dr. Lillian Schwartz and Rina de Firenze, author
of "Mystery of the Mona Lisa." These enterprising Kennedy students
have added music composed by Leonardo da Vinci and have also identified
Leonardo's portrait of an "unknown" Musician. Renaissance scholars
will appreciate the links to other Leonardo sites. The Site Map has
an interesting collection of the students' involvement in the Leonardo
research, as well as other happenings in the Kennedy and Bronx communities.
'Special Needs' were even considered with the inclusion of a hearing impaired
section to insure that everyone can browse the site. All in all,
a job well done!
