From: James Flack flack46@yahoo.com
To: sjfeld@erols.comHi Steve... You were right...the site "Why is the Mona Lisa Smiling"...IS AWESOME! My editorial staff has voted it our "Featured Site" for the month of September...and can be viewed from our homepage: http://pages.hotbot.com/edu/mrflack/enter.html By being a Featured Site...it also automatically qualifies this site for the "Crayon Bear" award for educational excellence... This award is only given to 12 sites per YEAR (1 per month)...making it a highly sought after commendation. We respectfully ask that "Crayon Bear" be linked to our homepage URL. Once again...CONGRATULATIONS to both you and your students...you all should be VERY proud! Best Regards... Jim Flack Webmaster MR. FLACK'S "BEST OF THE NET"

To: sjfeld@erols.comDear Steve,
Thank you so much for contacting me about this site! I would be happy to review this site and write my next article on it. I had planned to do some in depth articles regarding Word, but I will gladly put them off and do an article for this site. I will also be including a link to the website within the article and adding it to my links from the topic page. If you don't mind, I do have one request. I would like to know more about the kids who developed this web site. What are the age groups? How long did this project take? I realize you said this was an inner city school, what exactly does that mean? I have never been to New York so I do not know much about it. I would like this information to help me develop the article.Congratulations to all of you who participated in this project on the award you have won! I will also make an announcement on the Editor message boards regarding this site. There may be another Editor who could use this as an article too. It may relate more towards the kids who did the work or the processes they went through to create this site. Anything I can do to get the word out I would be happy to.
I also write for several other Web sites and I could post articles there as well, if you would like for me to. You just say the word!
Your students can look for this article on Friday Sept. 8,2000 if they are interested in reading it. Let them know that they are welcome to email me or start a discussion on the topic page if the would like to regarding the article.
Again, thank you so much for contacting me. I consider this an honor.
Sincerely,
Cheryl Lewis

To: sjfeld@erols.comCongratulations! Your site has won the Wishing Well Web Page Excellence award! Not all sites are deemed worthy of this prestigious award. It is presented only to those who have created a site that contains enjoyable content, is pleasant to view and is "family safe". Nice job! You are to be commended for your all your hard work.
You may pick up your award at: http://wwell.vpdev.com
Click on the link that says "Pick Up Award" . Be sure and add your site to the winners list too. With the high demand for this award, it has become impossible to maintain a winner list manually, therefore, a brand new automated list has been installed. To: sjfeld@erols.comThanks Steve for forwarding the links. I have included them in my Feature Sites link on my web page. I have been busy redesigning my page and only spent a brief time investigating yours. However, it seem quite thorough and well done.
My page is mainly used by elementary school kids in Calgary, Canada, where I teach grade three/four. I'm trying to make the site more interesting and interactive. If you know of any schools that would benefit from my site, please pass on my address. http://eduweb.spancity.com
If you have time, I would appreciate feedback on the site and would also like to know how you found me.
Thanks.

Thanks so much for sending me the URL for your project. I am copying the CNIB Digital Librarian, Jennifer Horwath, on this message, suggesting that she review your site and consider including a link on our website 'For Kids.' One preliminary observation I would make is that you should check your entire website for accessibility using: http://www.cast.org/bobby/Bobby is a web-based tool that analyzes web pages for their accessibility to people with disabilities. CAST offers Bobby as a free public service in order to further its mission to expand opportunities for people with disabilities through the innovative uses of computer technology. Regards,

Dear Karen:
Thank you for passing my letter along to Jennifer for review. We are very much aware of the Bobby Approval Rating. Our Artifaq 2100 quiz is Bobby Approved. /13681/data/nyc/nnquiz.htm
This page is the essential link to access the Future Art Gallery. We designed the site for Universal Accessibility. There are no frames versions of all Framed pages.
Please read my article which addresses these issues: /13681/data/learn/fax2.htm
Thank you for your suggestion, favorable review and encouragement!
Warm regards,

It's great to hear about your student's Think Quest projects. They both look creatively exciting, and we will certainly feature them in the Education section of an upcoming edition of Netweek.
We've had a lot of feedback from readers of Richard Doble's newsletter, so he obviously gave us a good rap.
Thanks for your submission. Congratulations on winning the Microsoft award. You obviously have a very talented bunch of kids.
