Russian Students Steve meets Sabina Russian Students

Steve F. Welcomes Sabina and her visiting exchange students Ann Marie Torres

Ann Marie, student team leader, presents to our Russian visitors "Remember the Maine", a multimedia video depicting the destruction of the Battleship Maine.

Maine Team

Ann Marie is joined by Ileana who researched the Internet and found 2000 links to help them draw their own conclusions as to what really happened to the Maine.

Ann Marie and Ileana presented Why is the Mona Lisa Smiling? At the Classroom of the Future Session, on behalf of the ThinkQuest students who created the site, at the School Tech Expo at the Hilton in New York.

Our Russian friends will be going to Washington DC to visit a chemical weapon dumping facility...... they will be the first Russians to make such a visit to this facility. EcoBridge is run by CEC International Partners which is funded by a federal grant.

A main thrust of our exchange has been for our two "cities", Saratov and the Bronx, to compare environmental problems.

We are both on major rivers: the Volga, and the Hudson, and share problems of study such as solid waste disposal, clean drinking water, and enforcement of environmental laws, joint projects taken up by Kennedy and Lyceum students.
