As a rehabilitation specialist you will help patients cope with their disabilities or problems by providing easier ways of doing things. You will teach blind students to read and write braille, instruct deaf or hearing impaired students to use sign language and help them learn how to speak. Rehabilitation specialists also teach in elementary and high schools and they are usually called special education teachers.
WHAT YOU NEED:
To become a rehabilitation specialist, you will need a bachelor of education degree and a teaching certificate. You may also require additional certificates in the special education field.
