As a guidance counsellor, you will help lead students down the right career path by helping them choose the proper courses. You will also counsel students who may be having problems with their family, drug and alcohol abuse, pregnancy or depression.

WHAT YOU NEED:

To become a guidance counsellor, you will need a bachelor's degree in education and you should take graduate courses in counselling. You will also require a teaching certificate and some teaching experience as either a supply teacher or a full time teacher.

$44,000 to $45,000
