Phoenix was a bird
that was larger than an eagle. Its life cycle was from 500 to
12,954 years. The bird was always male, and had reddish-purple
and gold feathers.

At the end of the
Phoenix's life span, it would burn itself on a funeral pyre. From
the ashes, a new Phoenix would rise and take the rest of the ashes
to the sun god's altar.
