Aphrodite (Venus)
was the goddess of love and beauty. She was married to Hephaestus.
In some myths, Eros (Cupid) was her son. Her other son was Aeneas.

Aphrodite, Hera,
and Athena (Venus, Juno, and Minerva) all claimed the golden apple,
a prize awarded to the most beautiful goddess. To settle the argument,
Paris was chosen to award the prize. He chose Aphrodite.
