The Ulster Titanic Society was established in April 1992. To date, there are over 150 members. The President, John Parkinson, as a young boy, saw the launch of the Titanic and he also saw her leave Belfast. Two notable members are Dr. Robert Ballard (who discovered the wreck in 1985) and William McQuitty (who produced the film 'A Night to Remember'). Ê The main aim of the Society is to research the Ulster involvement with Titanic. During summers they also arrange visits. Visits have included Harland and Wolff and the port of Cobh (Queenstown) in Ireland. Ê
