Titanic's Engines
Here, in the great Engine Shed at H&W, were engineered Titanic's triple expansion steam engines (rating limit: 77 revs per minute) and steam turbine engine (rating limit: 165 revs).
Steam from some 24 double ended and 5 single ended boilers powered Titanic's engines. Engine speed could be increased by feeding more steam, though until the boilers were shut down (halting the production of steam), the engines would continue to operate.
