The Decks
The passenger decks ( from the Promenade to the Lower ) were labelled alphabetically
from A to G. Two of these decks were above the main structure of the ship.
The three lowest decks did not run the complete length of the ship, due
to the positioning of the ship's machinery.
The Bridge, Promenade and Boat decks were each approximately 550 feet long.
Tiring to move around? H&W, of course, had a novel solution for that-
Always the great innovators, H&W even installed elevators; within the
First class, three operated between the Promenade deck and the Upper deck.
Second class passengers might catch an elevator between the Boat deck and
the Middle deck.
Of course, you could always try the grand staircase, from the main hall,
an experience in its own right!
