This image was taken by one of the Viking orbiters. It is from an area of Mars known as Cydonia Mensae and it contains features that many believe are indicative of intelligent life. The most prominent and well-known of these is the face, which can be seen near the top of the above image just to the right of center. In addition, there are several nearby objects that look somewhat like pyramids. Although a handful of researchers fervently believe that that these features are artificial, the evidence is inconclusive.
