We strongly recommend viewing this site in 16-bit or 24-bit color mode. The graphics you'll see here look incredibly ugly in 8-bit (256 color) mode.
If you're using 16-bit or 24-bit color mode, the line above should appear as a smooth spectrum. In 8-bit (or lower) mode, the color palette will automatically be remapped to the Netscape color cube, resulting in an image that looks like one of the ones below. If the image above looks like one of these, you should increase the color depth on your machine.
The images on this site were created on and calibrated for PCs. Mac and SGI users will see images that are brighter than intended. To view the graphics as they were meant to be seen, adjust the brightness so that the square on the left disappears and the one on the right is barely visible. If you can't see the squares, increase the brightness.
