The Space Shuttle external tank, is the largest systems that helps the three main engines and solid boosters.( Like the picture on the top.)
Rocket Boosters

are launched only on launching pads by two solid rocket boosters. It can go up to 8 degrees by the booster's control in the control system. At the burnout time the two booster are separated from the outside of the tank by an explosive tool and moved away from the Space shuttle. The booster will fall back to earth, and the booster will be picked up by the company or the goverment.
