Types of Planes


There are two basic types of planes (jets). A air breathing and a non air-breathing. Both of the plane's engines are different . Air-breathing engines uses oxygen from the atmosphere and fuel. Non air-breathing engines carry their own oxygen and fuel. The terms atmosphere and outer space are also used for these rockets.

An airplane consists of the airframe, power plant, instruments, furnishings and accessories.

There are three broad type of planes which were developed are land, water, or both. In this case this is how planes are separated. Landing planes have wheels, skids, endless tracks, and skis. Seaplanes have airtight boats for landing. An amphibious plane can take off and land on water or land.


The power plant of a plane has a carburetor and fuel pump, fuel, oil tanks, and lines. The instruments are devices that helps the pilot fly, navigating, engine performance, and indicating operating equipment. The furnishings can be found on the inside of the plane like seats, safety belts, cupboards, and etc. The accessories are things like lighting systems or engine accessories.

There are many kinds of engines these are some of them are jet engine, rocket engine, and electric engine. Below are some of the basic names of the engines.
