This page has been enhanced with Java applets. Java enhances the web browsing experience because it makes web pages interactive. Instead of looking at all the pretty pictures, and reading all the nice information, you can actually do things.
Java is a relatively new technology and many browsers do not support it yet. To find out more information about Java, please refer to the Javasoft home page.
Newer version of both Netscape and the Microsoft Internet Explorer support Java. If you have an older version that does not support java, I suggest you upgrade now! Currently, the browser that I have seen with the best java support is the Netscape Communicator 4.0. It has been written for many platforms including PC, Macintosh, and Solaris. You can download a copy of it by clicking on the link.
Netscape has even released a new Windows 3.1 java compatible browser and you can find it at the same place.
If you are running a platform that does not support java, don't worry. The technology will remain here for a long time, and chances are, you will have access to a computer with java capabilities some time in the future.
If you are having trouble getting the applets to work, you may be using a platform that has not yet been tested. Currently, the applets have been tested on PC, Macintosh, and Solaris platforms using a variety of browsers.
