  Further Improvements

Improvement must be made to keep the nation going and to ensure that people got better living. After solving problems on housing, education and unemployment, the government continues making improvement on industries and public housing etc.

Improvement on industries

The problems:

  1. There are so many factories in Singapore that there are not enough workers. Employers had to employ foreign workers.
  2. Singapore also faced fierce competition from the surrounding countries producing low-value goods. It is hard for Singapore to export.

The solution

  1. The government tried to produce high value and quality goods. Existing industries were encourage to make use of modern invention to do work. This would solve labour shortage.
  2. To produce high quality goods, more specialized skill is needed. Special institutes were set up to train engineers and technicians. Examples are polytechnics and technological institute.

Improving the lives of Singaporean.

Public housing

Education

Education needed some turning as the industrial product changes. Technical education was introduced in secondary schools. Schools also stress on Math's and Science. Students can study further as they can go to polytechnics and the university.
