The Sopwith Camel is perhaps one of the most famous and accredited planes in World War I. Camel pilots reportedly shot down the most Central Powers' planes during the war.

Due to its irregular weight distribution, the Camel had an incredible tendency to yaw right and torque clockwise (from a posterior aspect). Therefore, pilots in training either mastered this fastidious plane or died in training.

Even so, the Camel's speed and maneuverablity was unmatched by any other plane during World War I. In fact, A.R. Brown is credited with shooting down the Red Baron's Fokker Dreidecker when flying a Camel.
