The first thing to know, is that if you are in a situation in which
someone may take their life, CALL 911!! Do not hesitate, it is there to help you,
and if someone might try to kill themselve, you don't wan't to waste time.
If you yourself are thinking about
suicide, here are some numbers you can call to talk to someone.
- 1-713-228-1505-Crisis Intervention Hotline
- 1-800-668-6868-kids help phone
- 1-800-746-8181-crisis intervention clinic
- 1-510-706-8336-teen to teen hotline
If someone you know is showing many of the warning signs DO NOT IGNORE IT. Ignorance kills.
What you can do is listen. Sometimes talking about their problems will ease the pain a bit, tell them how you feel about them killing themselves,
remind them that there are other people out there like them, and that there are people who love them, and above all don't keep it to yourself that they are contemplating suicide.
Tell someone, whether it be one of their parents, or one of your parents, just let someone know. Also, talk to someone about how you feel, a situation like this can be just as hard on you as it is
on your friend.
