Longmen Grottoes 2
Location: 13 kilometers south of Luoyang
The Longmen Grottoes were started in 493 AD and work was done on them through the Eastern Wei, Western Wei, Northern Qi, Northern Zhou, Sui, and Tang Dynasties. There are 2100 niches, 40 pagodas, 100000 statues of Buddha, and 3600 tablet carvings in the grottoes.
